COLD CAVE HILLS, TENNESSEE — Right-wing podcaster and YouTuber Jethro Bohiggins told subscribers to his social media channels this week that he had a message for “libtards” that he says “still haven’t gotten the memo” about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the United States Supreme Court, and he says that he’s particularly tired of liberals using how Merrick Garland was treated as an excuse for the delays and stall tactics this time around.
Garland was President Barack Obama’s final nomination to the high court, after Justice Antonin Scalia died. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, citing a “Biden rule” that he said established precedent to delay Supreme Court nominations in election years, refused to hold even one hearing on Garland’s nomination.
During his rant, Mr. Bohiggins reminds American liberals that “elections have consequences” and that “elections stolen with the help of hostile foreign powers” have even more consequences. The rant — posted to his YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Tinder accounts — said that Garland’s nomination was “non-starter” and in perhaps the most shocking bit of the video, Jethro implies that Garland should’ve been a sexual predator if he wanted a seat on the bench.
“Oh, you wanna talk about Merrick Garland, Libtards? Look,” Jethro baits his opponents, “if Merrick Garland was a real man he would have raped somebody so he could become a Scrotal Justice!”
Jethro seems to believe that past sexual transgressions should not preclude someone from being confirmed to the Supreme Court, either.
“Are we really saying if you try to rape someone you don’t deserve a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land,” Jethro asks breathlessly.
